Menopause Awareness Month
October is Menopause awareness month. A time dedicated to raising awareness about menopause and its impact. This is not just for those who are experiencing menopause symptoms but also for colleagues, line managers and family members.
Heartwood Learning Trust strives to create an atmosphere where menopause can be discussed, while at the same time respecting that for many people it is also part of their private life which they may not wish to discuss in a work context. We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive working environment for all its workers and recognises that women may need additional consideration, support and adjustments before (perimenopause), during and after the menopause. For more information please see our Menopause Policy.
To support our commitment Menopause Cafes have been introduced across the Trust. These are an open, respectful and confidential space to promote discussion about menopause and/or perimenopause. They also provide an opportunity to expand your network of support. If you would like to attend a menopause cafe at your school, please email hr@hlt.academy.
If you have a member of staff or work colleague that is impacted by the menopause and would like guidance on how to support them please refer to the Menopause Policy or contact your HR Officer.
