SEND Information

At Heartwood Learning Trust, there is an equitable approach to SEND. Each school has their own named SENDCo with a rolling programme to train and upskill new SENDCo's via the NASENDCo or NPQ SEND pathway.

Each school is unique with its provision, and is subsequently responsive to the needs of their SEND cohort. Standardised assessments are administered in a timely manner and provision is regularly reviewed to suit the needs of all pupils.  A rolling programme of staff training allows the wider SEND teams to become specialists across the four broad areas of needs, which in turn enables each school to offer the relevant support to children so that they can truly flourish.

Within each school every Principal, senior leader and SENDCo lead with integrity to ensure that the SEND Code of Practice and SEND Policy is enacted with integrity and that partnerships with the Local Authority and NHS practitioners are nurtured to support all children with SEND and their families.

Edukey Provision Map is used within each of our schools to communicate every pupil's additional needs and to ensure that all information is shared in a timely manner with staff, parents and students alike.  Each individual pupil passport includes personalised information of a pupil's additional needs and how this impacts their daily life.  In addition, information is offered in terms of adaptations that should be made to the school environment, pedagogy that is best suited to that pupil's additional needs and consideration of access arrangements.

Encompassed within individual school websites, every Heartwood school publishes their own personalised SEND Information Report and Accessibility Plan in line with statutory guidance.
